What we believe:

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He came to earth to die on the cross, so that everyone who puts their faith in Him may have everlasting life.
Although the power of God may be seen in the created world, the Bible is the only reliable revelation of God to man which shows how God wishes us to live and how we may regain a relationship with Him.

How may I become a Christian?

An Evangelical church believes in the vital importance of faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, the only one who can save men and women from their sins, and the total reliability of the Bible - that is, we believe that the whole Bible is the true Word of God and is our final authority; it teaches all we need to know about ourselves, particularly in relation to God.

So to really become a Christian, people must accept the reality of their sinful nature and how it hurts God, and be willing to turn to Jesus seeking forgiveness. They can experience the cleansing of God and be ‘Born Again’ into a new life. Ask any of us at the church and we can tell you all about this.

Who is in charge at Holmgate Evangelical Church?

God is! And to assist Him we have our own elected Church Council, who with the church members govern our own affairs.

We are also affiliated to the FIEC - That is the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches.
It is not a denomination, but a friendly help for all churches who want to join, and maintains only a small office to help its member churches.

If you would like to read the entire FIEC Statement of Faith see Page 7

We receive no funds from outside bodies.
